Meet the Team!

Made with Music was founded by Hannah Dilworth and Kathryn Sturman. We now have a board of trustees, a number of freelancers who work regularly with us and more recently an Admin Assistant.

KAT PORTER

Admin Assistant

Kat has built her career within the public sector for over a decade, working as a Financial Investigator for the last 7 years. She has a busy family life with 2 young boys who certainly keep her on her toes! Kat attended Made with Music classes with her youngest son and found the music and singing very therapeutic at a stressful time. Her eldest son has cerebral palsy, which is how Kat got involved in charity work. She took on additional administration roles within the charity sector that she thoroughly enjoys and which allow flexibility around her family life. Kat is very excited to join the Made with Music team and promote their ethos of accessibility and inclusivity. She has always loved music but after unsuccessful flute lessons and a voice only suitable for her own ears, she is happy to stick to what she is good at!

Tamsyn studied for a music degree at The University of Birmingham before going on to Homerton College, Cambridge to complete at PGCE. She started her teaching career as a class teacher before going on to specialise in music education for primary aged children. She qualified as an Advanced Skills Teacher which led to an advisory role across Leeds’ schools and worked at a national level on the Orff Society UK committee. She currently teaches children from Reception to Year 6 across two schools in Leeds and Otley. She attempts to juggle work and home life with two children whilst still performing in local choirs and with Leeds Symphony Orchestra. It was through this orchestra that she met Hannah Dilworth. Tamsyn is delighted to be part of the Made with Music Board.

MILES JEFFORD

Board Member

Miles is a Chartered Accountant working in the NHS. As a young child he had significant hearing loss and found engaging with music helped build his confidence through expression as he could feel the music. His journey with music has led him to try many instruments, however the one that stuck is his guitar. In addition to this, his wife is a Primary School Teacher who uses music and sounds as part of her curriculum as a universal language.
In his free time, he enjoys walking the dog, listening to music and enjoying the throws of being a father. Miles is incredibly excited to be a part of Made with Music and all of the joy that it brings to so many families around Yorkshire.
