Mini-Gigs

We love live music but don't get to see as much as we'd like. Our Mini-Gigs are designed so that the whole family can enjoy access to the brilliant musicians Leeds has to offer.

Family Research Project

In September 2019, Arts and Minds funded a ten week music project partnership between Made with Music and the Yorkshire Regional Perinatal Mental Health Service, based at The Mount in Leeds. We have conducted a Service Evaluation with Sarah Hambly, research assistant at the University of Leeds and the findings are really encouraging.

'Memories Made with Music'

We ran an intergenerational singing sessions in 3 different venues in Leeds. We loved seeing so many people of all ages singing together.

Memories Made with Music launch

A successful #MemoriesMadeWithMusic launch at Kirkstall Abbey - 22 children & 34 adults from 2 months to 90 years & everything in between!
Thanks so much to everyone who came and to Leeds Community Foundation through Helping Hands Fund for funding our pilot project.

'New Connections' 

An exciting collaboration created by Leeds Conservatoire, involving a number of organisations in Leeds and the Manchester Camerata. The project was committed to providing music and performing arts education which was accessible to all. The video on the right is us in action with our friends and incredible charity Sunshine & Smiles.

Seacroft Grange - 'The Culture on the Doorstep'

A project is supported by IVE, the Arts Council England Bridge Organisation for Yorkshire and the Humber, the Economic and Social Research Council Impact Acceleration Account, and the University of Leeds Creative Learning Lab.

Leeds International Beer Festival

Every year, we bring music and entertainment to families at the Leeds International Beer Festival. Look out for us at the next one for a day of great beer, great music, and great memories!

Leeds Bear Hunt

We went on a Bear Hunt with Leeds Piano Competition bringing bear related musical fun. All celebrating the wonderful work of Leeds Hospitals Charity, Leeds Bear Hunt and Leeds Bid.

Chapel FM and Northern Opera Group

We had a great day with Northern Opera Group at Chapel FM today! Beth & Kathryn ran a workshop for families about animals and weather & then we watched a brilliant pop up show.

1-1 Teaching

We have started working 1-1 sessions. We love exploring what people like and don’t like… it was clear that our participant really loved the keyboard and cajon this session but who knows what others will like next session. We’re learning to be adaptable and responsive! To find out more you can contact us below.

LS29 at the Manor House

In collaboration with LS29, we put on two mini-gigs in Ilkley Manor House. It was a great day of music where attendees got to dance, sing and join the musicians on stage!

Canals Project

A creative couple of days for us in Birmingham working on a new accessible children’s theatre production inspired by canals! Reel shows Kathryn and Hannah exploring Birmingham, walking along the canal, a dancer improvising, the rehearsal space and scenes of Birmingham Rep on Centenary Square.

HOPS // Hawksworth Wood Primary School

We had a lovely day of singing with HOPS Ltd and the children from Hawksworth Wood Primary School.

'Everyday Superheros'

'You don’t need a cape or a costume, just be kind!' Something that became even more important during the Covid lockdowns. We wrote this song with Burley Park Children’s Centre during that time.

NYMAZ

We were commissioned to write a song for the NYMAZ Early Years Songbook: Songs for Modern Childhoods. Our song was about going on an adventure and we've used it in many of our sessions since we wrote it.

Let's Play!

We’ve had a lovely afternoon in Chapel Allerton at Let’s Play! Great to see all the chalk on the pavements and have lots join us for a sing in the park. 

Lockdown projects

As many of you know, we had a very busy lockdown sharing music, gigs, activities and tips! Lots of our work is still available on YouTube which you can access below!

Seminars - University of Leeds

We loved delivering a seminar on Inclusive Communities as part of the new MA Music and Wellbeing at the University of Leeds. We spoke about the community of Made with Music and you guys as our supporters being part of it! Thanks for supporting our work y'all.

SELFA

We traveled to Skipton to write a song with the 5-8 year-olds from the children's charity SELFA. After 5 sessions we wrote, learnt and performed a track called 'Emotions' (listen below).

Baby Week

We had a great time at John Lewis Leeds as part of Baby Week UK. Met loads of new families and sang songs from our songbook. Thanks to everyone who ventured out on a rainy day!
